“I had already told A&M I was coming, and I wasn’t kidding. By the grace of God, I decided to go ahead and go to camp at Alabama. Texas A&M was waiting for me to get back from Alabama’s camp to announce for them. And Alabama’s camp was brutal, man. Like three-a-days. But I decided on the way home that’s what I needed in my life. I need to be pushed to my maximum and I can get that out of coach [Nick] Saban.”

“I’m just a no-excuses guy, and I want to be the best out there. If someone has five sacks, I want six. I’m trying to do the impossible and make defensive end a skill position. And I’ll do anything to win. On the field, I don’t too much talk a lot. In the locker room I’m talking a lot, but on the field, I’m trying to get my rest between plays. I can get vocal if I have to, though.”

About Saban: “I want to be the best player I can be and he’s the guy who can get me there. I’m using him just like he’s using me, but I mean that in a good way.”

“I want to win a national championship, point blank. I hear all this about how Alabama is two, three years away. No. Forget that. I don’t accept that. I want to win one now.”
